Example configuration for authoritative DNS server for docker container is misleading
The example for the basic configuration for an authoritative DNS server given on https://hub.docker.com/r/internetsystemsconsortium/bind9 is misleading.
The lines:
listen-on { 127.0.0.1; };
listen-on-v6 { ::1; };
mean that the DNS server is not accessible from outside the container (and there is no reason to access it from inside the container).
Additionally there is no filename suggested for the config file. If named.conf
is used the default structure for config files is overridden.
