qptrie zonetable slows loading lots of small zones

Summary

Since !7582 (merged) was merged zone loading test with 1M small zones is ~ 3.3 slower than it used to be.

BIND version used

  • Affects v9.19: b171cacf (!7582 (merged))

Steps to reproduce

Try to load 1M small zones :-)

We have small test for that in bin/tests/startperf. Perflab is testing with 1M zones (albeit different).

Relevant logs and/or screenshots

Perflab chart (Y axis is time to start daemon, despite the description): image

It's interesting that memory consumption is so jumpy: image

Memory consumption used to be much smoother before the qptrie zone table: image
