Blog post or something on the 'deprecate support for legacy systems' topic

What does it mean to remove support for:

  • building without DNSSEC
  • building without IPv6
  • building without OpenSSL
  • removing support for 'legacy OSes'

Why are we doing this? Is it laziness? Too much trouble? We don't like those people anymore? I am sure there are answers for these things. It would be very helpful to write them down before people upgrade to 9.14 and trip on these things.

Perhaps you guys can add your thoughts on this topic to this issue and when we have enough text, we can call it a blog post.
