`supersede dhcp6.name-servers` ignored
Describe the bug
supersede dhcp6.name-servers in
/etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf appears to have no effect.
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Add the following lines to
supersede domain-name-servers 220.127.116.11, 18.104.22.168; supersede dhcp6.name-servers 2606:4700:4700::1111, 2606:4700:4700::1001;
- Check nameservers with
systemd-resolve --status. The results show that IPv6 nameservers provided by the DHCP server are not being overruled:
... Link 2 (wlp1s0) Current Scopes: DNS LLMNR setting: yes MulticastDNS setting: no DNSSEC setting: no DNSSEC supported: no DNS Servers: 22.214.171.124 126.96.36.199 2607:fb90:1cda:8fe5::2a DNS Domain: ~.
DHCP server's nameservers should be superseded by Cloudflare's.
- ISC DHCP version: isc-dhclient-4.3.5
- OS: Ubuntu 18.04 x64
- What features compiled in: Whatever came with the apt repo
- Using systemd-resolv and NetworkManager (Ubuntu default packages) if that matters
The DHCP server I'm using is my phone's hotspot. It's a Pixel 2 running Android 10. I'm not able to test on another wifi network or ethernet at this time.
This guy seems to be having the same problem. He is testing with another nameserver (not Cloudflare).
