There is one notable difference between the cloudsmith Kea packages we offer.
The Ubuntu package installs Kea to run as user "_kea".
Kea installed from the rpm packages runs as root. This difference is historic.

Where security policy precludes running processes as root or using sudo it may give some administrative advantage to users to be able run as a non-super-user out of the box.

Consideration must be made to users who have installed Kea already and are running it as root as are differing selinux/apparmo standard settings
