Minor documentation error in query log format
Docs bug. Greg verified that this appears to be a correct report
I'm trying to understand the Bind 9 query log format, and came across a potential mistake in the admin manual:
https://bind9.readthedocs.io/en/latest/reference.html#the-category-phrase
under "queries", the manual states (emphasis mine);
The query log entry first reports a client object identifier in @0x format. Next, it reports the client’s IP address and port number, and the query name, class, and type.
However, the example query log entry listed after this paragraph is missing this object identifier:
client 127.0.0.1#62536 (www.example.com): query: www.example.com IN AAAA +SE client ::1#62537 (www.example.net): query: www.example.net IN AAAA -SE
Meanwhile, in my own Bind 9 query log, I can see this client object identifier. Therefore, I believe you are mistakenly using an old query log entry as an example. Can you please confirm if this is the case?
