Workaround heap-use-after-free error in process_sendevent()

This is a workaround of a permanent CI failure after GitLab CI migration to AWS.

I ran respdiff-*:tsan CI jobs several times with RESPDIFF_JOBS=32 (64 is the default bind-qa repo's default) and they did not fail.
