Machines system information display of Kea application information
On the machines details page, on the right there is a button for details on the apps. Why not put more of the details right on there?
At a minimum it seems like we should be able to display the apps and their status, something like this:
- DHCPv4 - running (Cathy suggested we could also link these to the appropriate tabs on the Kea Apps page)
- DHCPv6 - not configured
- DDNS - not configured
Proposed text for the right panel under Kea App:
APPLICATIONS
DHCPv4
- service status - running (green and check is ok, or red and X if the service was running previously but is not now, perhaps yellow if there are errors - maybe we skip the icons until we have a good system for displaying and dismissing errors?)
- uptime (similar to display for the machine)
- HA configured (check)
- HA role (standby)
- Version 1.7.3
- Hooks installed ...
DHCPv6
- service status (running) (green and check, or red and X if the service was running previously but is not now, perhaps yellow if there are errors - maybe we skip the icons until we have a good system for displaying and dismissing errors?)
- uptime (or last reload time)
- HA configured (check or dash if un-configured)
- HA role (active)
- Version 1.7.3
- Hooks installed ...
In addition to having more information, we specifically need to change what is there now.
NB, the "Active RED ! no" that is there now is not helpful.
Please don't use RED ! unless it is an actual fault condition. The Red ! on the machine details page displayed below really is only to indicate that the dhcp server is in standby mode, which is not a fault. (Actually, I am not sure what it indicates, it isn't clear at all whether this refers to HA active mode or general server availability.)
I like the use of colors and icons, but when we do that to indicate status, can we please add some mouseover text to explain what it means?
In this casetThe user's eye was drawn to the RED ! but then she couldn't see what the problem was that this was trying to alert her to.
